Dear fellow CUPA member,
I want to advise you of some of the upcoming events
for our association. You have probably just received the notice of meeting and
agenda for the October 26 meeting. When
we printed the agenda, we did not have confirmation of our speaker. I can now
tell you that it will be Hugh Anderson.
Hugh is a veteran financial columnist and editor and the author of the “Seniors” column in the Gazette. The title of his talk will
be “That Clawback Ain't
That Bad, and Other Pension Myths” and he is also prepared to answer any other
questions about articles in the column or general senior issues.
We are also planning an afternoon at the races for November 21. Those who have attended this event in the past are very enthusiastic about it and recommend it strongly as a social occasion and not just a race event. More details will be coming out shortly.
Our Christmas lunch will be on December 15 at the
Faculty Dining room downtown. In response to some
comments about past lunches we intend to “spark it up” this year. We are
working on having some entertainment, prizes, and similar. Mark it down - you
will be getting further details shortly.
For the spring, our current plans are softer but
currently include the possibility of a casino event here or in
